There was action in the Mid Sussex Football League, as Ridgewood won two-one at Sovereign Saints
Buxted lost three-one at home to Hurstpierpoint while both AFC Uckfield Town and Crowborough Athletic were without a match this weekend.
Despite being reduced to ten men with over an hour remaining, Lewes maintained their unbeaten run with an impressive two-one victory over Bishops Stortford.
Brighton and Hove Albion also remain unbeaten in the Premier League after another superb win – the Seagulls winning two-nil at West Ham.
Meanwhile, Lewes’ ladies team played out a goal-less draw at Birmingham in their opening match in the FA Women’s Championship.
In Saturday’s local cricket, Uckfield Anderida went down to a seven-wicket defeat at Mayfield’s third team. Crowborough suffered a narrow defeat by one wicket against league leaders Little Common Ramblers’ seconds. Blackboys also lost to Burwash Weald by one wicket. But, there was another good win for top-of-the-table Buxted Park, who won at Bexhill by 41 runs.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Isfield, Fletching and Rotherfield.
