In the Mid Sussex League, several of our local teams had their matches postponed due to unplayable pitches. In games that did take place, Rotherfield lost three-one at home to Ashurst Wood. Newick were four-one winners over Burgess Hill Rhinos, while Nutley were beaten four-one by Barcombe and Maresfield went down to a two-one defeat at Athletico Burgess Hill.
Lewes went out of the FA Trophy in a penalty shootout against Bognor Regis, after the two teams drew two-all at the end of 90 minutes.
Lewes’s ladies scored a late winner in a one-nil victory at Sunderland. And, a stoppage-time equaliser denied Brighton’s ladies all three points in a three-all draw against Liverpool.
