Uckfield Anderida lost their opening home match of the season

They were beaten by 143 runs by Little Common Ramblers’ second team at the Victoria Pleasure Ground.

There was defeat too for Crowborough, who lost to Dicker by four wickets.

Elsewhere in the Sussex Cricket League, there was a first win of the season for Buxted Park, who beat Crowhurst Park by 54 runs.

Isfield had a four-wicket victory at home to Ringmer, while Newick beat East Dean and Friston by three wickets and Nutley defeated Hellingly’s second team by eight wickets, there were also wins for Rotherfield, Fletching and Blackboys.

A combination of rain delays and some stubborn late order resistance on yesterday’s final day meant that Sussex’s county team had to settle for a draw in their latest Championship match at Leicestershire.
