Shine Bright 2026

The Shine Bright 2026 walk is a 3km illuminated in-memory night-walk organized by St Peter & St James Hospice. Taking place this weekend on Saturday 17 October 2026 in the village of Lindfield, the event brings the local community together to remember loved ones, celebrate life, and raise critical funds for hospice care. 

Ashdown Radio's Ryan Millns & Nicky Roberts will be on hand to warm up the crowds, before they set off! 

Event Details & Schedule

• Date: Saturday 17 October 2026
• Location: Starts and finishes at Lindfield Primary Academy (School Lane, Lindfield, Haywards Heath RH16 2LL)
• Timing: The Event Village opens at 4:00 PM, and the illuminated walk officially starts at 7:00 PM.
• The Route: A 3km circular trail around Lindfield. It is primarily along paved paths and is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, though there is a short grass section across the common (with a paved alternative available near the tennis courts). 

What to Expect

• Entertainment: The route is brought to life with beautiful light displays, live music, performers, and local stalls.
• Moments of Reflection: Designated areas allow participants to pause, remember, and celebrate those they love.
• What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes and layers are recommended. The hospice advises bringing a torch/flashlight, as some segments of the route have low ambient lighting. 

Impact of Your Donation

Every ticket registration directlyfunds the free specialist care provided by the hospice to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses across Mid Sussex: 

• £25 can help pay for essential medical or personal comfort items like pressure-relieving cushions.
• £50 can fund three counselling sessions for a patient and their family members.
• £120 pays for five hours of specialized nursing care on the hospice Inpatient Unit
