Eligibility and Payment Information
A Cold Weather Payment is triggered when the average temperature in an area is recorded or forecast to be zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days between November 1 and March 31. Eligible households receive £25 for each qualifying period. The payment is made automatically to those receiving certain benefits such as Pension Credit, Income Support, or Universal Credit.
