Ashdown Radio launch highlights

We were delighted to be officially opened by Zoe Ball

The station launched at 11am on Friday 1st April with Gary King and Ryan Millns

Ian Smith, Chairman of Ashdown Radio spoke with Gary & Ryan just after 11 and said "This marks the start of a new era for local radio" he went on to say "every day the team of presenters will entertain you with a blend of music, chat and local information"

At 1pm Zoe Ball joined us, with Peter Suter in a joint programme, to officially open the station she said "It's my honor and Privelage to declare Ashdown Radio open" before unveiling a plaque and went on to speak to some of the staff and guests including members of local office who were also present including David Neeves, Mayor of Crowborough and Jackie Love Mayor of Uckfield, Donna French her deputy

David Neeves said "It's fantastic, to have a local radio station serving both towns, and to have people living in Crowborough who can listen to a local radio station for Crowborough and Uckfield is brilliant" David also went on to say that this formed a new friendship between the two towns

You can hear him talking to Gary King about his role on the new East Sussex Today show on 14th April

Jackie Love said "Through the hard work of the team, the station will broadcast to more people than before and I am completely blown away by it"
