Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow has once again been voted the best free airshow in the country.

Securing the top spot for an impressive sixth time, the annual seafront show received double the votes of its nearest competitor, in the annual awards run by Airscene.

The award follows a successful year for the show which enjoyed bumper crowds, brilliant sunshine and a sensational flying display line-up, watched by hundreds of thousands of people across Eastbourne seafront.

Many of the displays performing over Eastbourne this summer were winners too, with the RAF Red Arrows topping the bill in the Best Display Team category, and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Royal Navy Black Cats in second and third place. The RAF Typhoon also picked up the Best Solo Display award with crowd-favourite Rich Goodwin as runner-up.

After meeting its cost neutral target, Airbourne is already confirmed to return next year from 13 – 16 August. Opportunities are now available for sponsors and advertisers to board the UK’s biggest free airshow and benefit from the high footfall, alongside a digital audience reach of 1.5 million.

Confirmed sponsorship for 2026 includes Eastbourne agency PRG Marketing Communications, the team instrumental behind this year’s eye-catching airshow branding and souvenir programme design, helping to break sales records over the four days.

Eastbourne Borough Council’s Lead Member for Tourism & Place, Cllr Jenny Williams said, “Securing our sixth Best Free Airshow crown is no mean feat and is a testament to all of the hard work undertaken by teams across the Council and our many partners, sponsors and volunteers involved in the event.

“We’re looking forward to building upon this year’s amazing success, but we can only do this with your help, through sponsorship, donations or support in kind. Please join us in 2026 and be part of a winning team!”
