A 4 year old girl has become the youngest winner ever of the International My Perspective competition,
Beatrice Lawson, who lives near Uckfield, was the recipient of the Judges’ Choice Award (Child) for her self-portrait titled Say Cheese in the Down’s Syndrome Association’s annual contest.
The My Perspective competition is now in its 15th year and celebrates the unique perspectives of children and adults with Down’s syndrome.
The competition received a record 252 entries from around the world, including the UK, China, Iran, Brazil, India and Spain.
Carol Boys OBE, chief executive of the Down’s Syndrome Association, said: "The spontaneity and unselfconscious joy in Bea’s selfie is completely infectious.
"The picture embodies what My Perspective is aiming to achieve—enabling people who have Down’s syndrome to take control of how they see the world and how they want to be seen."
