HERE'S your opportunity to work on Ashdown Forest - and enjoy everything that makes the iconic site so special.

Under the Ashdown Forest Act 1974, a maximum of six vehicles are allowed to sell ice cream and refreshments at various sites each year.

The deadline to apply for 2026 is Monday February 16, and the agreements will start from March 1 on a one or two-year basis.

The Conservators are now inviting applications - and they would particularly welcome applications from clean air/solar power and other zero-emissions vehicles with sustainable mobility credentials.

Beth Morgan, Head of Engagement and Development at Ashdown Forest, said: "We would be thrilled to hear from as many different people as possible before the deadline.

"We expect this year to be an especially busy season on the Forest with various high profile events to mark the centenary of Winnie-the-Pooh.

"It really is a one-off opportunity for businesses to come and work on Ashdown Forest and serve our regular local visitors as well as those visiting from around the world - and where better to work, especially when the weather is glorious."

No food or alcohol sales are allowed, and the sales must take place from a mobile van. The vehicles must not be placed on the Forest before sunrise, and must be removed before sunset. No music is to be played.
