A Crowborough window cleaner is running the Spartan Trifecta in Nutley this weekend to help raise funds for one of his clients, Kent children’s charity Tree of Hope
Dad of two Ricky Johnson, 40, is taking part in the London South East Spartan Trifecta which is held over two days in Nutley this weekend. The race is made up of a 21K race with 30 obstacles on Saturday October 8, plus a 10K with 25 obstacles and a 5K sprint with 20 obstacles on Sunday.
Ricky, who runs his own business Supershine Cleaning said: ‘I’ve been cleaning the windows at Tree of Hope for a few years now. This is the first time I’ve done the full Trifecta event and I figured it would be good to raise some money for charity too.’
‘Tree of Hope is a brilliant charity which helps families raise much needed funds for sick and disabled children. Now I have my own children, Penelope, 6, and Jude, 4, I’ve come to realise that we take a lot of things for granted. For some families, things are a lot more difficult and to me it made sense to raise funds for a children’s charity like Tree of Hope, to help them help make like easier for sick or disabled children and their families.’
Tree of Hope helps families fundraise for children with healthcare needs which are not covered by the NHS and provides charity status to benefit from gift aid, corporate support whilst also providing donor reassurance.
Gill Gibb, Tree of Hope CEO said: ‘We’re very grateful to Ricky for taking on this challenge for us and wish him all the best with the event.’ For more information or to donate to sponsor Ricky, visit http://www.justgiving.com/Ricky-Johnson2
