East Sussex motorists banned after drink and drug-driving crackdown

As part of Sussex Police's annual Christmas crackdown on drink and drug-driving (Operation Limit), a total of 279 people were arrested between 1 December 2025 and 1 January 2026. As of 1 April 2026, 70 of those individuals have been convicted in court.

The latest group of East Sussex motorists to lose their licences includes:-

  • Natalie King, 34, a tree surgeon from Northiam: Arrested on 19 December in Udimore. Convicted of driving with 60 micrograms of alcohol (legal limit is 35). Banned for 17 months and fined £120.
  • Casey Whyborne, 20, a labourer from St Leonards: Arrested on 21 December in Hastings. Convicted of driving with 51 micrograms of alcohol. Banned for 14 months and fined £225.
  • Arron Wakefield, 31, a care assistant from St Leonards: Arrested on 27 December in Polegate. Convicted of drink-driving (44 micrograms), driving without a licence or insurance, and having illegal tyre tread. Banned for 12 months and fined £200.
  • Tyler Day, 22, a mechanic from Eastbourne: Arrested on 28 December in Eastbourne. Convicted of driving with 58 micrograms of alcohol. Banned for 14 months and fined £230.
  • Caltrava Recioy, 28, a cleaner from Eastbourne: Arrested on 14 December in Brighton. Convicted of driving with 62 micrograms of alcohol. Received a 38-month ban and £120 fine.
