Congratulations to Crowborough Athletic who have secured promotion.
Congratulations to Crowborough Athletic, who have secured their promotion from the Southern Combinations Premier after beating Eastbourne United 2-1. The Crows started the game perfectly, with a quickfire double from Rushaar Samuel-Smikle who scored twice in the opening four minutes, holding their two goal advantage until the end of the first half, when Eastbourne’s Charlie Ball halved their deficit.
The second half got worse for Crowborough though, going down to ten in the 62nd minute after a second yellow was shown to Harrison Mayhew for time wasting, before the visitors were also reduced to ten later in the match to close the game out and see The Crows earn promotion into the Isthmian League South East.
The season is not over for Crowborough however, as they now prepare for their final fixture against league winners Hassocks in the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup final, which will take place on Saturday.
And finally in the Mid Sussex Leagues, Buxted continued their good form by comfortably beating Cuckfield Rangers Development 6-2, with Morgan Vale impressing as he bagged four in the game, with all three points meaning Buxted now find themselves in third, one point behind second with a game in hand.
