Crowborough had a comfortable seven-wicket win over bottom club Tunbridge Wells Borderers.
Uckfield Anderida went down to a 111-run defeat at unbeaten neighbours Buxted Park’s second team. There was victory too for Buxted Park’s first eleven, who won at Portslade by 45 runs.
There was an important win for Isfield, who defeated local rivals Newick by seven wickets. And there was an also excellent win for Barcombe, who beat league leaders Burgess Hill’s second team by 63 runs.
Fletching had a narrow seven run win over Ansty’s seconds. Nutley remain top of their league after a five-wicket win at Wadhurst, and Blackboys also stay top with a 96-run victory over Barcombe’s second team.
There were defeats for Plumpton and East Chiltington and Rotherfield.
It was a tough day for Sussex’s county team in their Championship match with Derbyshire at the County Ground Hove. The visitors recovered from 83 for four to reach 339 for five at the close of the opening day yesterday.
