It was a winning weekend locally!
In football, Crowborough Athletic looked back to their best as they thrashed Wick 5-0, as AFC Uckfield Town kept their good form going as they earned a narrow 2-1 win against Infinity leaving them fourth in the table. In the SCFA Intermediate Cup, Jarvis Brook exited after a 2-0 loss to Ferring, while Rotherfield progressed beating St Francis Rangers 2-1, as did Ridgewood, who comfortably defeated Bosham 6-0.
In the Mid Sussex Leagues, Barcombe lost their opening fixture at home against Oxted & District 2nd’s 3-1, while Buxted won 3-0 against Brighton & Sussex Medical School to make it two wins out of two, as Nutley exited the Malings Cup losing 4-0 against Rotherfield 2nd’s.
Newick started their season by convincingly beating Keymer & Hassocks 6-1, while Maresfield Village narrowly won 3-2 against Ditchling, with Hartfield earning a 3-1 win against Scaynes Hill Reserves.
Meanwhile in women’s football, AFC Uckfield Town lost 4-0 to Hastings United as they dropped down to fourth in the table.
Finally in men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron sit top of the table after narrowly beating Dover 27-25, while Crowborough lost 32-29 against Cranbrook, as both sides now prepare for their clash on Saturday.
