In the Isthmian Premier Division, Lewes remain in the play-off zone, as they battled for a point from a two-all draw at Cheshunt, despite playing most of the second half with ten men.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s recent slump came to an end with an excellent two-one victory at Arsenal.

In cricket, Sussex lost the opening match of their County Championship campaign at Hove yesterday, going down to a ten-wicket defeat by Nottinghamshire.

And finally, congratulations to everyone from Uckfield, Crowborough and the surrounding areas who completed yesterday’s Brighton Marathon.
