Uckfield are back in action tomorrow evening when they host Lingfield – kick-off at the Oaks is at 7.30 pm.
Meanwhile, Crowborough Athletic moved up to seventh place in the table after an excellent four-one win over Peacehaven and Telscombe. Crowborough also play tomorrow evening, as they visit league leaders Crawley Down Gatwick.
In the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood lost four-nil at home to top-of-the-table Oxted and District. Plumpton were three-nil winners over Lectern Lights Reserves, while Hartfield beat Oxted and District’s ‘A’ team two-one.
In cup competitions, Jarvis Brook beat Westfield three-one. Rotherfield defeated Barnham Trojans by the only goal, and Barcombe won three-two at Crawley United.
Elsewhere, there were defeats for Nutley, Fletching and Maresfield.
In the Isthmian Premier Division, Lewes’s play-off hopes were boosted by a comfortable three-nil victory over Kingstonian. And in the Premier League, another late goal gave Brighton and Hove Albion a one-nil win over Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium.
In women’s football, Lewes were beaten four-nil at home to Birmingham City, while Brighton’s ladies drew one-all with Aston Villa.
In local rugby, Uckfield beat local rivals Lewes by 33 points to 17. Meanwhile, Crowborough went down to a narrow defeat by 20 points to 18 against Heathfield and Waldron.
