15 more people convicted of drink-driving

Sussex Police have named 18-year-old Oliver Durrant as one of the latest 15 individuals convicted during their winter drink and drug-driving crackdown, Operation Limit.

Durrant, a railway employee from Bognor Regis, was breathalysed after his Vauxhall Corsa overturned on the A27 at Tangmere; he was found to be over the legal alcohol limit. 

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 13 January 2026, he was disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £350, and ordered to pay £225 in additional costs. 

Latest Convicted Individuals

The latest group of 15 convictions includes:

  • Oliver Durrant, 18, railway employee (Bognor Regis) — 14-month ban.
  • Casey North, 20, bar worker (Copthorne).
  • Ayesha Muhammad Hatton, 29, student (London) — 17-month ban for drink-driving with no licence or insurance.
  • Tony Ellis, 28, builder (Chatham) — 20-month ban.
  • Jamie Cornwall, 40, retail assistant (Saltdean).
  • Korina Pagkali, 35, beautician (Brighton).
  • Frederick Walker, 25, scaffolder (Caterham).
  • Darren Packman, 52, quantity surveyor (Snodland). 

Campaign Overview

  • Arrests: A record 279 people were arrested during the operation, which ran from 1 December 2025 to 1 January 2026.
  • Convictions: As of late January 2026, 32 individuals have been convicted so far from these arrests.
  • Goal: Sussex Police stated they will continue to publicly identify convicted drivers to raise awareness and act as a deterrent.
