Eastbourne Borough Council is allocating £200,000 to support the town’s most vulnerable residents who are struggling amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The funding agreed by Cabinet councillors today (December 10) is part of a package of measures designed to assist low-income residents who are facing exceptional financial hardship.
The council will be working in partnership with Eastbourne Foodbank to ensure those in immediate need are given assistance.
Councillor Daniel Butcher, Cabinet Member for Finance, Resources and Community Wealth Building, said: “We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Eastbourne Foodbank to provide a lifeline to people who most need our help.
“This is a key part of our commitment to protect Eastbourne's most vulnerable residents as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite. We recognise that financial hardship is a daily reality for too many households and are doing all we can to provide essential support.”
