HALF-TERM FAMILY FUN AT RAYSTEDE THIS FEBRUARY

Looking for a paws-itively brilliant half-term activity? Families are invited to head to Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare this February to follow the heart-warming story of Gizmo the cat, from rescue to rehoming.

Taking place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 February, Raystede’s popular free Family Learning Days will see visitors exploring the charity’s beautiful 43-acre site on a fun, interactive trail. Along the way, families will discover why Gizmo needed a new home and learn about the care, kindness and support he received while at Raystede.

Running from 10am–4pm, the Family Learning Days are completely free, but places must be booked in advance as numbers are limited and tickets go fast.

A visit to the yurt in the education garden will help budding animal lovers uncover what makes a cat purr with happiness, which foods are feline-friendly (and which definitely aren’t), and what cats need to stay healthy from whiskers to tail. There’s even the chance to learn how to speak cat!

Families can also enjoy craft activities, animal-themed films, and take-home resources so the learning (and fun) can continue long after the day ends.

Gemma Price, Head of Prevention and Education at Raystede, said: “One of our key objectives is to help prevent poor animal welfare through education and to support pet owners to give their animals the best possible life. Our free Family Learning Days are a fantastic way for children to learn more about animal welfare while discovering the many different animals we care for at Raystede.”
