Sussex Police are currently appealing for witnesses following two separate sexual assault investigations in Eastbourne launched in April 2026
1. Sexual Assault in Lottbridge Drive (24 April 2026)
Police are investigating an assault on a woman in her 20s walking with her child around 8:55 pm on April 24, near the Hydneye area of Hampden Park. The suspect is described as a man (35-50) of average build, roughly 5'9", with a deep English accent, wearing dark clothing with a hood, a face covering, and bright white trainers. A 20-year-old local man was arrested and later bailed.
2. Sexual Assault in Helen Garden (13–14 April 2026)
An appeal was issued on April 22 regarding an incident involving a male victim assaulted by two men in Helen Garden, King Edward's Parade, overnight between April 13-14. The suspects are described as a 28-year-old white male (6'2", dark blonde hair, stubble, orange top) and a 30-year-old male with a dark beard wearing a blue tracksuit.
