Uckers Game postponed due to weather
In football, Lewes dropped from the top of the Isthmian Premier after their 2-0 defeat away to Horsham in a below par performance, conceding in the fourth minute before eventually going down to ten men after Peter Ojemen was sent off, as their second league loss of the season now leaves them third in the table.
Elsewhere, AFC Uckfield Town saw their clash with Alford postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, as did Jarvis Brook’s tie against Capel.
While in the Mid Sussex Leagues, Ridgewood came out the losing side in an entertaining 4-3 fixture against Crowhurst, as Rotherfield drew 2-2 with Ringmer AFC to move into tenth in the standings.
Elsewhere, Buxted also saw their fixture with the BN Dons postponed, while Nutley lost 3-1 away to league leading The View.
Lastly in the men’s, Newick & Maresfield Village’s match also failed to beat the elements, as did Plumpton Athletic’s fixture against Keymer & Hassocks, while Hartfield exited the Brian Hall Trophy after losing 3-0 against AFC Varndeanians 3rd’s.
Finally in men’s rugby, Heathfield & Waldron put in a strong performance in their 61-12 victory against Charlton Park, while Crowborough’s 26-12 win versus Ashford sees them climb to fifth, while Uckfield made it four wins from four by beating Seaford 32-24, as Newick went down 14-0 to Barns Green.
