Entries for the 2026 RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run are now officially open!
. This year marks a significant milestone: the 130th anniversary of the original 1896 Emancipation Run, which celebrated the "freedom of the road" after the Red Flag Act was abolished.
Entry Deadlines & Phases:-
Participants can register through the official Veteran Car Run website during the following windows:
- Earlybird Entries: Open 25 March (offers the lowest entry fee).
- Advance Entries: Open 17 June.
- Standard Entries: Open 22 July.
- Programme Deadline: 26 August (last date to be included in the official event programme).
- Final Closing Date: Entries close on 18 September.
Key Event Details:-
- Date: Sunday, 1 November 2026.
- Route: The traditional 60-mile journey begins at sunrise (6:00 am) in Hyde Park, London, and concludes on Madeira Drive, Brighton.
- Eligibility: The run is strictly for vehicles manufactured before 1 January 1905. All entries must have a valid Veteran Car Club of Great Britain (VCC) Dating Certificate or Passport.
- Special Categories: In addition to four-wheeled cars, the 2026 event continues to welcome a limited number of veteran motorcycles, tricycles, and even plucky cyclists on period-correct bicycles, such as penny farthings.
- Incentives: Discounted fees are available for "Earlybird" bookings made before 17 June, with additional discounts for the very earliest pre-1900 vehicles.
The run serves as the grand finale to the Royal Automobile Club's London Motor Week, which includes the RM Sotheby's London Sale and the St James's Motoring Spectacle.
