Huge discounts on rail travel for East Sussex students

Southern Railway have partnered with four major Sussex colleges to grant thousands of students access to Unizone tickets, offering discounts of up to 70% on rail travel.

Key Details of the Partnership

  • Participating Institutions: The scheme now includes students at 

    Brighton Metropolitan College

    Worthing College

    Northbrook College

     

    Chichester College

  • Travel Coverage: Discounted travel is valid across two Unizone areas, covering routes between Chichester and Eastbourne.
  • Ticket Benefits: Students get unlimited travel within their chosen zone for a fixed price, available in weekly, monthly, or quarterly durations.
  • Eligibility: To qualify, students must be in full-time education and present a valid 16–17 Saver or 16–25 Railcard along with their college ID. Physical NUS Extra and TOTUM cards are also accepted as valid ID. 

2026 Ticket Pricing (Examples)

As of January 22, 2026, indicative prices for the zones include:

  • Brighton Unizone

    : Weekly (£22), Monthly (£84.50), Quarterly (£253.50).
  • Worthing Unizone

    : Weekly (£25), Monthly (£96), Quarterly (£288). 

How to Purchase

Unizone tickets are not available online or at ticket machines. They must be purchased in person at a Southern Railway ticket office within the relevant Unizone area.
