There were mixed fortunes for our local football sides in their Boxing Day fixtures.
In the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division, Crowborough Athletic beat Lingfield 2-1 at Charles Century Community Stadium, with Will Puffette making his 50th appearance and Harrison Mayhew (who was also red carded) playing for Crowborough for the 100th time. Rushaar Samuel-Smikle and Tom Pearson with the goals for the home team.
Crowborough visit bottom side Little Common on Saturday (28 December), with The Crows sitting 5th in the table.
In Division One, AFC Uckfield Town lost 3-1 at Forest Row in the A22 derby, Uckfield are also back in action on Saturday looking to keep a push on to the play-off places, with Godalming Town visiting the Oaks.
After a late penalty save by Toby Bull saw Lewes leave Wingate & Finchley with a 2-2 draw last weekend, they picked up another draw at the Dripping Pan on Boxing Day. This time a goal-less affair with Folkestone Invicta. On Saturday, The Rooks visit Essex and Hashtag United also looking to push for the play-offs this season in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
